Open Training
Open Training is Rain City’s weekly player development program for boys and girls from approximately U8 to U16 who want a high-quality training environment with strong coaching, clear expectations, and consistent technical development.
Players train in small groups organized by age, ability, and overall fit. Sessions focus on ball mastery, technical detail, decision-making, confidence, and game understanding.
Our fall-to-spring training year is organized into four 8-week registration blocks:
Block 1: September 28, 2026 – November 22, 2026
Block 2: November 23, 2026 – January 31, 2027
Block 3: February 1, 2027 – March 28, 2027
Block 4: March 29, 2027 – May 23, 2027
Families can register one block at a time, giving players the opportunity to continue training throughout the year while keeping registration flexible for families.
Academy Training
Rain City Academy Training is our new invitation-only development program for selected players who are ready for a more focused, demanding, and consistent training environment.
Academy Training is designed for players who show strong commitment, coachability, technical ability, competitiveness, and a desire to keep improving. Players are invited based on age, ability, attitude, training habits, and overall fit within the group.
The Academy season runs from fall through spring, beginning in late September and continuing through May.
Academy Training is also the primary pathway for Rain City travel opportunities. Players involved in Academy may be considered for future travel experiences, tournaments, matches, and other development opportunities. Selection for travel opportunities will depend on age, ability, commitment, availability, group needs, and overall fit.
Academy Training is invitation only. Players must be invited or approved by Rain City before registering.
Families who believe their child may be a good fit for Academy Training can contact Rain City to express interest at hello@raincitynl.com, but registration is only available once a player has been invited or approved.

4V4 League
Rain City 4v4 League is a fast-paced, small-sided game format designed to give players more touches, more decisions, more attacking moments, and more opportunities to compete.
The 4v4 format creates an exciting environment where players are constantly involved in the game. With fewer players on the field, players get more time on the ball, more chances to score, more opportunities to defend, and more freedom to be creative.
The league is designed for players who enjoy competing, playing small-sided games, and developing their confidence in a fun, high-energy environment.
Registration and full details are coming soon.
Rain Drops is Back — Small Feet. Big Dreams.
We are excited to announce that Rain Drops — Rain City's introductory soccer program for children aged 2 to 6 — is returning this fall.
Rain Drops is where it all begins. A fun, safe and energetic Saturday morning environment designed to give young children their first experience with a soccer ball. No pressure. No scores. Just movement, laughter and the beginning of a lifelong love of the game.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and run on Saturday mornings at Turf's Up Sports, 55 Hebron Way:
Ages 2–4: 9:00–9:45 AM
Ages 5–6: 10:00–10:45 AM
Block 1 runs October 3 through November 21, 2026 — 8 Saturday morning sessions for $165.
Groups are kept small — capped at 15 children — so every child gets individual attention and plenty of time on the ball.
Registration is now open. Places are limited and fill quickly.
